Date Night
Holiday Date Night, On Ice
Looking for a Thousand Oaks date night that isn't dinner and a movie? Lace up under the string lights, claim a fire pit, and stay for the DJ at Late Skate. Here's how to plan it, from a cozy weeknight to a holiday night worth remembering.

Ice skating might be the best date in the Conejo Valley. You're outside under the lights, you're moving, and there's a good chance one of you grabs the other's arm on the first lap. Nobody's checking their phone, and nobody has to fill an awkward silence.
Ice at The Oaks is open every day from November 6, 2026 through January 10, 2027 at 147 W Thousand Oaks Blvd. A 90-minute session is $22 per skater with rental skates included. Here's how to turn it into a night.
Reserve the fire pit with your tickets. Each Fire Pit Lounge seats up to four, so it works for a double date too, and there are only a few per session. Get tickets
Three ways to do date night
1. The Late Skate Saturday
On Friday and Saturday nights, the last session of the night is our Late Skate: a live DJ, colored lights and the best energy of the week. It starts at 9 PM and runs until 10:30 PM in regular weeks and until 11:00 PM in holiday weeks. Grab dinner first, arrive 20 to 30 minutes early to lace up, and skate it out.
2. The cozy weeknight
Prefer room to glide? Monday through Thursday in regular weeks, the 7 PM session is the last of the night and runs right up to closing at 9:30 PM. Mondays outside holiday weeks are Cheap Skate Mondays, just $16 per skater, and weeknight fire pits are $50.
3. Theme Tuesday
On Theme Tuesdays, the last two sessions of the night take on a theme. Dress the part and make it a story:
- Tue, Nov 24: Friendsgiving Skate, 7 PM & 9 PM sessions
- Tue, Dec 1: Ugly Sweater Skate, 5 PM & 7 PM sessions
- Tue, Dec 8: Glow Skate, 5 PM & 7 PM sessions
- Tue, Dec 15: Holiday PJ Skate, 5 PM & 7 PM sessions
- Tue, Dec 22: Reindeer Games Night, 7 PM & 9 PM sessions
- Tue, Dec 29: '80s & '90s Night, 7 PM & 9 PM sessions
- Tue, Jan 5: Snowflake Send-Off, 7 PM & 9 PM sessions
Claim a fire pit
A rink-side Fire Pit Lounge is the move between laps, or for whichever one of you would rather watch. It's reserved for your session, seats up to four, and you add it when you buy tickets. Skating admission is separate.
| Fire Pit Lounge | Mon – Thu | Fri – Sun |
|---|---|---|
| Regular weeks | $50 | $75 |
| Holiday weeks Nov 21–29 & Dec 19 – Jan 10 | $75 | $100 |
Warm up with something from our Cocoa Cabin: hot chocolate, coffee, funnel cakes, cotton candy and s'mores. Food and drinks stay off the ice.
Holiday nights worth circling
- Christmas Eve: skate into the holiday from 11 AM, with the last session starting at 5 PM and the rink closing at 6:30 PM.
- New Year's Eve: holiday hours from 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM. Skate the 9 PM session, then head out to ring in 2027.
- Winter break nights: from Dec 19 through Jan 10 we're open all day, and Late Skates run until 11 PM on most Fridays and Saturdays.
Planning to come back? The Snowflake Season Pass is $199 per skater for any public session all season, one entry per day. Two passes make a pretty good gift.
Popping the question?
We'd love to help. Our proposal package starts at $299: 15 minutes of private ice, lights and a song cued on your signal, and roses with a cocoa toast rink-side. You bring the ring, and we'll keep the secret.
Date night tips
- Book ahead. Friday and Saturday nights and holiday weeks sell out first, and fire pits go fast.
- Dress warm, not bulky. Gloves, layers you can unzip and one pair of tall socks. New to skating? Read our first-timer's guide.
- Non-skaters welcome. Spectators watch free from rink-side seating and the fire pits.
- Make it dinner and a skate. We're at The Oaks, so it's easy to pair your session with dinner nearby.
